Top 9 Series on Netflix Right Now

The absolute best shows on Netflix right now!

There are a lot of great shows on Netflix but these below 9 are absolutely the most binge-worthy.

6 Podcasts You Can’t Get Enough Of

Breaking Bad

#1. Breaking Bad. Walter White, a high school Chemistry teacher, is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer, and teams up with his degenerate drug dealing student, Jess Pinkman, to make and sell methamphetamine. If you have not seen this, run, do not walk to your TV.

Stranger Things

#2. Stranger Things. This science fiction horror series based in the 80s immediately sent me back to my childhood. The main cast is a group of kids who ride their bikes, use walkie talkies, and go off into the woods at night behind their house. It reminds me a little bit of the movie Stand By Me and a little bit of Goonies, which are two of my favorite films.

FNL

#3. Friday Night Lights. I’m a bit embarrassed to put this on the list because Texas High School is so cliché, but this series is SO good. This is a must watch!

The OA

#4. The OA. This is the most underrated Netflix series of all time. A young woman returns after being kidnapped as a teenager. Netflix describes it as “a Russian nesting doll of a story” because of the deep plot line.

House of Cards

#5. House of Cards. Two letters. FU for Frank Underwood. This political thriller about a manipulative Underwood who goes to extreme to rise in politics. This doesn’t really happen, does it?

13 Reasons Why

#6. 13 Reasons Why. A girl commits suicide and leaves behind a series of 13 tape recordings giving reasons for why she killed herself. This story is a bit traumatic and gives us an inside look at contemporary high school culture. The show has a powerful message about bullying, and the impact on others.

Orange is the New Black

#7. Orange is the New Black. I can’t help feeling sorry for Piper Chapman who is sentenced to 18 months in prison after convicted of a decade old crime of transporting drug money to an ex-girlfriend. The normally innocent Chapman struggles in this new world full of mixed characters. It’s both funny and sad, but like a train wreck, you can’t turn away.

Freeks and Geeks

#8. Freaks and Geeks. This series is a pop culture treasure. This show was way before it’s time, it’s consistently rated the #1 that was too soon to be cancelled after just 1 series. The cast of this hidden gem will make you wonder “how did I miss this?” It’s because none of these people were famous when this originally aired. More talent debuted in this high school comedy than any other series in our generation. Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jason Segal, and Paul Feig all got their start here.

Lost

#9. Lost. A commercial flight traveling from Sydney to Los Angeles crashes on an eerie Pacific island. The survivors are a diverse mix including a surgeon, a felon, a conman, a lottery winner, a single pregnant mother, a rock star, an Iraqi Republican Guard Officer, and an old man in a wheel chair. They eventually link up with other survivors from the other portion of the plane, and clash with seemingly native inhabitants they call the “others”. This show has pretty good plot twists, and fun little flashbacks that give life to the degenerate group of castaways.
